Spring Cleaning Tip #1: Your inbox is not a to-do list!
Category end the #EmailTimeSuck | 0 comments
Your inbox is not a task management tool. So don't treat it like one.
We get it. Incoming email adds to or takes away from your existing to-do list for the day. Therefore it seems logical to simply move emails out of your inbox as you are finished with them and count that as a task crossed off your list.
And sure it feels great to see an empty inbox at the end of the day. But here's the hard truth: you probably spent unproductive time moving emails around. Besides, this behavior could deliver a double whammy. You are likely to spend more time looking for these emails when you need them later. Therefore, though it is tempting and even advocated, avoid using your inbox as a to-do list.
Leave your messages be and invest in a good task management tool on your desktop or mobile instead. Here are a few recommendations from Forbes to get you started.
Now that you have a solution to your to-do list problem, you are probably wondering if there is a way to handle a large or unwieldy inbox too. Why don't you give the FREE FewClix Personal Edition a shot?
